Greenville Ad Club Announces 2005 ADDY® Award Winners
Greenville, SC (February 28, 2005) – The Greenville Ad Club (GAC) announces its ADDY Award Winners for 2005. IMI Resort Marketing received Best in Show for the “Condominiums Discovery Kit” for Metroclubs Condominiums; a Judges Choice Award went to Wilson, Coman & Taylor for “The Next Conductor” for the Asheville Symphony; a Special Judges Award went to Gibbons & Peck Marketing Communications for “Kick Off Your Holidays” for Legacy Texas; and the Mosaic Award went to Henderson Advertising for Citizens for “Martin Luther King Outdoor” for the Martin Luther King Holiday. Erwin-Penland Advertising received the greatest number of Golds at 18, IMI Resort Marketing with 8, Leslie Advertising with 7 and Henderson and Brains on Fire with 6. Roselle Montesion from Henderson Advertising received the 2005 Member of the Year award.

Over 550 entries were received for the GAC local ADDY® competition and those entries were judged by a panel of advertising industry professionals in late January that included Kevin Endres, Owner and Creative Director at Endres & Partners in Nashville; Gina Nacey, Senior Copywriter at Agency 128 in St. Cloud, MN; Kim White, Executive Vice President, Creative Director and Partner at Freedman, Gibson & White in Cincinnati and Larry A. Profancik, Vice President and Executive Creative Director at PriceWeber in Louisville.
GAC is an affiliate of the American Advertising Federation (AAF), the country’s leading professional advertising organization. The ADDY® awards is an annual opportunity for advertising agencies, design firms, marketing departments, TV and radio stations, and others in the Greenville, Spartanburg, Asheville, and Anderson markets, who are pursuing advertising–related business, to be recognized for their outstanding creative efforts by a panel of judges selected from other parts of the country. The almost 200 possible award categories included radio and television commercials, print advertisements, billboards, direct mail, sales promotion, Interactive and collateral.
The ADDY® Awards Competition is a three-tiered national competition conducted annually by the American Advertising Federation. Bringing in over 60,000 local entries last year, the ADDY® Awards Competition is the advertising industry’s largest and most representative competition for creative excellence. Starting each fall the competition begins at the local level with the 210 member clubs. The local Gold ADDY winners proceed to 15 district competitions, with those gold ADDY winners proceeding to the national competition.
GAC Gold ADDY® winners will be forwarded to the 3rd District competition which will be held in Greenville March 25-26. Gold ADDY® winners at the District competition will be forwarded to AAF National for judging in April in Richmond, VA. National winners will be honored at the AAF National Conference in Nashville on Tuesday, June 7, 2005
